President’s Message

On behalf of me, the AIFEMA Executive, and all our members, we welcome you to our ‘NEW’ AIFEMA website.

Whether you are a current member of the AIFEMA or a prospective member, we trust the information contained in this website provides you with a better understanding of the role AIFEMA plays in ensuring the safety and security of all our industrial and municipal emergency response colleagues.

It is an honor and privilege to be associated with an organization that is over 25 years old. Since its start in 1989 as the Alberta Industrial Fire Protection Association, we have become a world class association that provides its members with peer networking opportunities, subject matter expertise in industrial and municipal fire protection, emergency management and a ‘first-hand look’ at many of the innovations and technology coming from the fire protection manufacturing and response community.

In fall of 2015, the membership voted to change the associations name to the Alberta Industrial Fire & Emergency Management Association (AIFEMA) to better reflect our goals and objectives.

Lastly, I extend a thank you to all the members, who value and recognize the benefits AIFEMA offers their company and municipal emergency services group. By continued interaction and information sharing we raise the standard for the entire industrial fire and emergency management field.

Shawn Hare
President, AIFEMA
