I am pleased to announce that Tina Parker is the successful candidate for the position of Provincial Fire Administrator for Alberta effective February 5, 2018.Tina has held the position of Fire Technical Advisor with Municipal Affairs since 2014 and has an extensive background in the fire code and fire service, investigation and inspection disciplines including complete certification as a fire safety codes officer. Starting as an insurance claims adjuster from 1991-2003, Tina transitioned to a fire safety codes officer role in 2003 for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and was promoted to the position of Fire Marshal in 2008. After serving as a Fire Codes Specialist/Inspector for CNRL Fire Department from 2010-12, Tina worked for the Safety Codes Council and Alberta Emergency Management Agency before joining Municipal Affairs in 2014.

In addition to her fire discipline qualifications and expertise, Tina brings a wide range skills and certification in such fields as insurance, health and construction safety, hazard assessment, occupational health and safety and auditing. Tina is a regular contributor and participant in the Alberta Building Officials Association, Alberta Fire Safety Officials Association, Alberta Fire Safety Association, Alberta Fire Marshals Guild, Insurance Institute of Canada and Northern Alberta, Fire Investigation Association of Alberta, International Association of Arson Investigators, the National Fire Protection Association as well as many other associations of professional and personal interest.
